Steve Wachsmann has been growing vegetables in Lee County for a long time.   Before joining Lee County Farmer's Market Association he sold his produce at his parents general store in Manheim.  Steve's vegetables are always top shelf, many customers come to our market for Steve's items.  The quality of his produce is always outstanding.  He believes "feed the soil and the soil will feed the plant."  Steve makes his own compost from garden waste, leaves, weeds and grass clippings, old hay, chicken and cattle manures.  The result is a rich, balanced fertilizer and soil conditioner.  Only a healthy soil can produce a healthy, nutritious, mineral rich plant.
Steve's growing philosophy is " growing good, nutritious food at a fair price in a local and sustainable way.  If you know your farmer, you can trust how and where your food was grown"
